Job Description

  • Provide direct supervision to hourly employees in manufacturing food products; ensure the safe operations of daily activities while meeting established production schedules.
  • Effectively communicate production goals and objectives to achieve results; maintain a high standard of product quality while maximizing plant efficiencies to drive continuous improvement.

 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Support positive, effective relations in all aspects of employee interaction.
  • Embrace differences while monitoring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all policies are administered consistently and equitably among all employees.
  • Provide proper training for plant employees on HACCP/SSOP, GMP, equipment and plant safety requirements and job-specific training.
  • Responsible for replacement employee job training, and workstation assignments/rotations including backup for absent employees and overtime assignments.
  • Manage employee attendance and absenteeism with an emphasis on accountability.
  • Build employee awareness of our customer base, to showcase who they are and the value they deliver.
  • Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, changeovers and sanitation.
  • Establish staffing levels including turnover and needs relating to production volumes.
  • Schedule and conduct shift meetings to review safety issues and performance along with plant performance relative to targets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university; an equivalent combination of college education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a four-year college degree.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and time-keeping systems.
  • Three plus years of supervisory experience in food processing manufacturing preferred.
